Dr. Josef El Andari is an expert in AAV capsid engineering and the development of novel synthetic vectors for safe and efficient therapeutic gene delivery. He serves as DiNAQOR’s Senior Scientist for AAV Vector Development.
Dr. El Andari has extensive experience in the AAV gene therapy space, working with several preclinical animal models for rare muscular hereditary disorders. Before joining DiNAQOR, he completed a five-year postdoctoral program at the Faculty of Medicine and BioQuant, Cluster of Excellence CellNetworks, at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. His work led to multiple publications in AAV capsid diversification and biology, biodistribution and gene therapy.
Dr. El Andari earned his PhD in Molecular and Cellular Microbiology from the University of Freiburg, Germany. He has an MSc in Molecular Biology and BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the Lebanese American University and American University of Beirut, respectively.
